Week 1 of the MPC Spring Crafty 3x3 Boys League kicked off this past Monday, with early leaderboards now posted.

The first week is a difficult gauge as some players play more games than others due to the random nature that teams are created after each game. Crafty leagues monitor games played by each player from week to week to ensure that all players play roughly the same number of games by the end of the league so long as they attend each session.

A single player will ultimately win the 3x3 league with 10 additional all-stars crowned on championship day.  Players earn points in two ways: 1) all points scored by their team in every game, win or lose, are awarded to every player on that team. 2) Players earn 4 bonus points towards their standings when they play on any winning team and two bonus points for a tie.  The 3x3 games are scored using the Crafty Bonus Point system, rewarding scoring plays from backdoor cuts, assisted passes, and other screens that lead to a made basket. Players are rotated to new teams after almost every game, teaching players how to use cuts and high IQ basketball to win with players of all skill, size, and ability.  Crafty Basketball Leagues typically run for 5 weeks.

After week 2, a full recap of the league leaders will be included with the standings posted each week.

The league continues again beginning at 5:30 PM Monday at Mass Premier Courts for grades 4-5, and at 7:00 PM for grades 6-7.  All players are strongly encouraged to attend each week if possible.
