Two extremely competitive leagues battle in 5th-6th divisions

Week 2 of the Natick Fall Crafty 3x3 Boys League concluded this past week, with the leaderboard taking shape in both the boys 5-6th and girls 5-6th divisions. With week 2 complete, championship day on Nov. 19th is now in sight.

For the 5th-6th boys, an extremely competitive league continued for the second straight week, as Crafty summer league champion Colin Mucha again at the top of the leaderboard. His 18 points on 8 wins and 2 ties leads the pack, followed closely by Charlie Smith (8-1-1, 17 points), Matthew Schultz (6-2-2, 14 points). Youssef Bouqartacha (13 points) is also in the hunt near the top.  In addition to the leaders, more than 10 other players are in double digits for league points with many others just under 10 points.  Many players in this division clearly have the top 6 spots in their sights by the end of championship day.

A single player will ultimately win the 3x3 league with 5 additional all-stars crowned on championship day.  Players earn 2 points towards their standings when they play on any winning team and one point for a tie during short, 6 minute games. The 3x3 games are scored using the Crafty Bonus Point system, rewarding scoring plays from backdoor cuts, assisted passes, and other screens thatlead to a made basket. Players are rotated to new teams after almost every game, teaching players how to use cuts and high IQ basketball to win with players of all skill, size, and ability.  Crafty Basketball Leagues typically run for 5 weeks.

The Girls 5th-6th Division is also extremely competitive after week 2 with nearly all players still in the hunt.  Hannah Cohen continues to use a steady approach to assume the lead with 10 points on only 2 wins, no losses and six ties! Meanwhile, four players are right behind with 9 points each including Madelyn Goldsmith (4-4-1), Madison Hughes, (4-3-1), Sienna Proctor (2-2-5), and Ava Sundari-Chritensen (3-3-3).  Every player in the league is within 4 points of the leader which will make for a very interesting final two weeks of play.

The league continues again 4 PM Sunday at Natick High School.  All players are strongly encouraged to attend the final two weeks.
