Week 3 of the Fall Crafty 3x3 Girls League at Mass Premier Courts is now complete and championship night is here. A number of players are competing for league titles, All-Star spots, and qualification invites. The level of play across the board continues to rise.
In the girls 5-6th division, Foxboro’s Adrianna Alberts (16-2-2, 34 total points) and last week’s leader, suffered her first two defeats of the league, but continued to lead the division heading into championship night. Sharon’s Olivia Landstein (14-5-2, 30 Points) closed the gap with a very strong night, while East Freetown’s Kailee McPhillips, Foxboro’s Mary Collins and Ava Hill, and Maya Fernandez are all nearly deadlocked in the standings. We expect to have a very competitive finals across the board as many players are shooting for all-star spots and finals invites.
For the 7th-8th girls, Mansfield’s Hallie Popat (13-4-6, 32 points) continued to lead the pack heading into the final night with consistently strong play. Her use of smart cuts to the basket and outside shooting off the pass has created a difficult choice for defenders. Mansfield’s Maya Evans is the next closest player with 25 points, while Newton’s Eva Mescher continues to move up the board with 20 points. Overall, 8 different players are still in the mix for the top 6 spots.
With their performances in week 2, the first players from this league have earned invitations to the Crafty New England Championships on Oct. 28th. More players will become eligible over the next week as we head into an important 3rd week.
The league concludes with championship night tonight, Tuesday Oct. 24th, at Mass Premier Courts. Full standings can be reviewed at http://www.craftybasketball.com/page/show/3704018-mass-premier-courts-fall-central-division.
