The Crafty Basketball Winchester Girls 3x3 league finished with highly competitive play this past Sunday, with the league champion determined in the last game.
With three of the top six players after week 4 unable to attend due to a conflicting AAU tournament, the league title was left wide open for other top seeds to take the crown. As the night played out and top 12 players on hand battling it out through a series of 5 games, 4th seed Mia Meibom and #1 seed Ritika Relwani, both of whom have shared the league lead throughout, entered the final game nearly tied. The final game pitted the top remaining 6 seeds out of the top 12 who started the night, and Meibom and Relwani finishing the game with 34 points each. Because Meibom had played one fewer game than Relwani over the course of the 3 week league, the Crafty tie breaker PPG system was used to determine that Meibom was the league champion.
Championship night all-stars named for the league based on a combination of total league points earned through week 5 performances included Emma Depeter, Naia Daley, Ceci Kelcourse, and Isabella Boyd. Other all-stars named but not present included Ava Ciaccio, Carmen Kelcourse, Ellen Kurr, and Olivia Maguire.
In addition to league All Stars, a total of 19 players earned enough points to qualify for the New England Crafty Championships to be held in October, where players from leagues across Eastern Mass who have also earned qualifying spots will compete for the Craftiest 3x3 player in New England in late October.
