Week 2 Leaders Emerge

Week 2 of the Fall Crafty 3x3 Girls League at Mass Premier Courts ramped up the competitive level as numerous players continued to show strong play in both divisions.

In the girls 5-6th division, Foxboro’s Adrianna Alberts (12-0-1, 25 total points) continued to separate from the pack with a second straight undefeated night, she remains the only undefeated player in any division or league this fall. Sharon’s Olivia Landstein (8-4-2, 18 Points) and East Freetown’s Kailee McPhillips (8-4-1, 17 points) had strong nights to storm to 2nd and 3rd on the leaderboard, while Foxboro’s Ava Hill (7-4-1, 15 points) and Foxboro’s Mary Collins (6-5-3, 15 points) round out the top 5.  Each week can bring significant swings to the leader board as players are mixed with new teammates and we expect more fluctuation this coming week.

Players earn 2 league points when they play on any winning team during short, 6 minute games. The 3x3 games are scored using the Crafty Bonus Point system, rewarding scoring plays from backdoor cuts, assisted passes, and other screens that lead to a made basket. Players are rotated to new teams after almost every game.  Crafty Basketball Leagues typically run for 5 weeks.

For the 7th-8th girls, and extremely even night led  with the top points earned by Mansfield’s Hallie Popat (8-2-6, 22 points) extended her week 1 lead by playing numerous games against a talented Foxboro quartet that registered as a team.  The Foxboro team consists of four veteran Crafty league All-Stars and entered this league as a team.  Individual player who play this team earn additional bonus points when they play or defeat this team. Bridgewater’s Catherine Fitzsimmons is a close second with 19 points, followed by Norfolk’s Maya Evans with 17 points.

With their performances in week 2, the first players from this league have earned invitations to the Crafty New England Championships on Oct. 28th.  More players will become eligible over the next week as we head into an important 3rd week.

The league resumes for a pivotal Week 3 this Tuesday at Mass Premier Courts.  Full standings can be reviewed at
